South Texas Promotores Association, Inc. (STPA) was officially founded in 1993. STPA is the only Promotores Association recognized as a training site that is managed by Grassroot Promotores.
Promotores en Acción y Prevención
WHO WE ARE
South Texas Promotores Association, Inc. (STPA) is a non-for-profit organization dedicated to improve the health status and quality of life of the families that reside in the South Texas Border. STPA provides health education, community resources information, preventive health screenings, and training for Promotores de Salud/Community Health Workers.
STPA activities include, but are not limited to:
Provide professional development opportunities and educational experiences for Promotores de Salud/CHWs;
Conduct health education and outreach activities;
Refer community members to social services;
Provide technical assistance to community base organizations;
Develop health education curriculums and education tools to address health issues;
Coordinate groups of volunteers to serve the community.
Supporting mental and physical health.
